Falling Leaves: An October Digest

Work

First day of October, I went to a local school to represent BU for future students to see what courses we offer. A few shifts dotted around the month, mostly for the Schools team which is my favourite shift to work. We had two open days this month, with one being on my birthday which was pretty fun (yes I still worked it!). Ending the month on a work shift to the Isle of Wight with my friend / one of my favourite co-workers.

I also started my new jobs as a PAL Leader (where I have a session once a week as a senior to the Foundation Year students) and Student Accommodation Mentor (where once a week, I sit in the common room of one of the Accommodations and talk to students about anything they have on their mind).

“Back to School”

Back to University. I’m kind of excited for how this year will go.. Will I get a placement? Will I pass? I hope so! This semester’s units are: Machine Learning, System Analysis and Design, and Software Engineering.

Society

First society meeting of the year! It was a huge success in my opinion, with lots of different language enthusiasts. Elections.. I ran to continue my post as President, which I won! Finally now with a full committee, we can start putting plans into action and get more engagement.

Me time?

Finally some relaxation, some well deserved weekends to myself to do my own things either on my own or with my friends.

TLDR; Getting back into uni while still keeping up with life.
